Chapter 12

I never understood the complexity that goes into integrating technology into the classroom. Much is required of the teachers to teach their students the uses of technology. While many of the students will know as much if not more than their teachers, it is important to have all the students working at an acceptable level. I guess it all should be obvious but I never really thought about the three aspects of pre-lesson, lesson, and post lesson, and how they all need technology. I now realize how important it is for me, as a future teacher to not only prepare a lesson and how to teach it, but also how to explain the uses of technology that will be needed for students to absorb what they need to out of the lesson.

So i lost my book and i didn't want to spend another 71 dollars so i spent a while looking before i caved and got a new one. Through chapter four I learned just how much technology is becoming a part of the classroom, and how crucial it is for me to incorporate it into my lesson plans. Not just in teaching the lesson but in assignments. I think its important that I allow students to use different medias and tools in their assignment will not only help them in the English world, but with the rapidly advancing technological world. Using powerpoint, and computers is only scratching the surface; students can bring in youtube videos, use their ipods, even create their own videos to complete an assignment. It is my job to teach and give student opportunities to use technology.
