In order to make sure that students are understanding of the lesson plan and how the comprehend the technology needed for the lesson, constant assessment is needed. Assessment allows the teacher to both see how their students are progressing, as well as seeing if their teaching methods are effective. If an entire class is not understanding how to use the technology, a different method of teaching maybe needed to help the students understand what is expected of them. If one or two students are falling behind extra time either in or out of class should be given to them to make sure they do not get lost.
My question is it more important to assess a student by over bearing them with another assignment, or is it better to try to make those assessments through in class work? Personally I know that my homework will not be the only assignments that my students will be taking home, and the less frustrated and overwhelmed they become in my class the more successful they will be. I want to set up my students for success, not make them feel like all they will ever do is tasks I assign them.
I am in an assessment class now and I am learning that while final projects and tests are important to see what a student has learned, the in class progression and assessment is very important. As a teacher I want to be able to monitor my students through their in class work as much as possible so I can see what I need to work on in my lesson, and to prevent from wearing out my students. I will obviously be giving out homework, but I do not want to overbear my students. Especially with technology I want to see that they understand what they need to know through what they are doing in class, and not have them have to take the technology home to work on. In class assessment in this area is important to me.

5/5 You can do assessment just by observing your students and asking questions. Teachers are constantly assessing student learning as well as their own teaching.
